Most outdoor hoops are sold as sets that include a backboard, rim, net and mounting kit. Mounting kits are sometimes sold separately. These sets cost about $200-350, depending on type and size of the backboard. Extension arms are available that allow the backboard to extend outwards.
Portable hoops are easy to set up and use. They come with a base that can be filled with water or sand for stability. Some portable systems have a wheel mounted base, which makes it easy to move the hoop around. Most systems have a 2 or 3 piece pole that can be adjusted from 7.5 to 10 feet. The portable hoops cost about $150-650.
In ground systems are more permanent systems. They are cemented in a hole. They require more work to install, but are more stable than portable systems. Residential in ground systems cost about $ 200-1200.
